App Privacy Policy

Location Data (GPS)

FountainFlyer requests access to your device's location services (including background location) to provide core features:

• Usage: To locate the nearest airport water fountains and to send you location-based push notifications (e.g., alert when arriving at a specific airport terminal).
• Privacy: All location data is processed entirely on-device. Your live or background coordinates are never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.

Community Reports & Photo Uploads

Users can contribute by reporting new water fountains and uploading photos for verification.

• No Account Required: Contributions are submitted anonymously.
• Photos: Uploaded photos are used exclusively by the Data Controller for verification purposes and are reviewed manually. Photos will not be published or made accessible to other users.
• Data Minimization: The Application strips all metadata (EXIF/GPS data) from photos before uploading. Users are strictly prohibited from uploading photos that contain identifiable faces or personal features of individuals.

Infrastructure & Server Logs (Supabase)

We use Supabase as our backend provider, hosted on instances in the Europe-West (Frankfurt, Germany) region.

• Server Logs: When using the app, temporary server logs (including your IP address, device type, and timestamps) are processed by Supabase automatically to ensure database security, stability, and abuse prevention. These logs are deleted automatically after a brief retention period.

Analytics (TelemetryDeck)

We use TelemetryDeck to gather anonymized usage statistics (e.g., how many water fountains are discovered). No personally identifiable information (PII) is tracked. All user identifiers are hashed locally on your device.

Purchases & Subscriptions

FountainFlyer can be supported voluntarily via monthly/yearly subscriptions or one-time purchases. All financial transactions are processed securely by Apple. We only receive confirmation of your purchase status.

Legal Basis & Deletion

Processing is based on your consent (for location access and uploads) and our legitimate interest (server security and anonymized analytics). Since data is stored anonymously, deleting the application will remove your local configurations.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using FountainFlyer, you agree to these terms and the Apple Standard EULA.

Content Submission & Rules

When reporting a fountain or uploading content:

• You grant the Service Provider a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and evaluate the submitted information to update the database.
• You agree never to upload images showing human faces, offensive material, or copyrighted content.
• The Service Provider reserves the right to reject, modify, or delete any user submission at any time without notice.

DISCLAIMER: Water Quality & Accuracy

• Accuracy: FountainFlyer is a community-driven database. While we review submissions, we do not guarantee that the listed water fountains exist, are functional, or are free of charge.
• Health & Safety: The Service Provider does not monitor or guarantee the hygiene, filtration, or potability of the water provided by the listed fountains. Users drink at their own risk. The Service Provider is not liable for any illness, health issues, or damages resulting from using any water fountain listed in the Application.

Optional Purchases & Discontinuation

• Voluntary Support: Paid options unlock premium cosmetics or function as voluntary support. This does not create an ongoing obligation for service availability.
• One-Time / Lifetime Purchases: Grants access to the specified features for the lifetime of the Application. The Service Provider reserves the right to discontinue the App or backend services with reasonable notice.
